KG at Las Vegas SKUSA SUPERNATIONALS XV - 2011

This last week we were in attendance to the SKUSA SUPERNATIONALS XV, the most important and big race in United States for Sprint Racing, that translate in "European style kart racing". The classes are "sprint" and also do have an additional CIK niche for KZ2 and KF2. So, TAG, TAG Cadet and Moto S1 to 5 classes for the American specialized style, and KZ and KF for fields full of worldwide drivers used to race CIK classes. Excellent show and variety for everyone. Even the "older" driver classes like G1 and TAG Masters allow veterans to compete and teh highest level.

But it has been a very long week. Manuel De Leonibus arrived on tuesday in order to deliver at the track the last items that were requested, and to offer any needed service for KG products. From wednsday morning on it has been a lot of racing, helping, talking and explaning about the latest products. And collecting orders for the future. The paddock was full of familiar faces from USA, Canada, Europe, Italy and many other parts of the words. Most famous manufacturer were present in force and competing. Big presence from Tony Kart, CRG, Intrepid, Arrow, Birel, Top Kart, Italkart (Italian Motors), Sodi Kart as well from other smaller but noneteless very good manufacturers like Energy, EKS, BRM, FK, Margay, WildKart, Merlin, Tecno,DR Racing,GP and many more. Also, noted was the presence of some very effective racing teams - basically specialized in the race service, like Aluminos and Phil Giebler Racing (FA Kart).

The Rio location is always very impressive, not only for the good organization of SKUSA and the lay out of the race track, but also for the many activities and events that run along the week end, culminating on SUPER SUNDAY, with all the race finals, with the award and prize cerimony and well deserved party at the Voodo lounge. In other words it is an event not to miss, not just for racing but for all that it has to offer.

ART GP Announce New Team and Kart Chassis--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to the French karting website Kartcom, GP2 & GP3 team ART GP are introducing a new kart and race team to the market. It marks one of the first real attempts by an established single-seater car team to venture into the kart market beyond merely sponsorship. Their chassis has apparently already been homologated and is named the TS-01. Details of the chassis design and manufacturer are yet unknown.



In recent years a trend has shown car teams becoming keener to integrate more into kart racing so they have more direct involvement in developing young drivers.

Nicolas Todt who co-owns ART said ”I am really proud to add another milestone in the development of the ART Grand Prix company. The Karting panorama has always been an ultimate breeding ground, where all the greatest drivers made their first steps. For our company, the decision to join such a valuable environment makes a lot of sense and has synergies with our existing activities. Having Armando Filini on board from day one is a great asset and should enable us to accelerate our learning curve. We are facing this challenge with a lot of humility, enthusiasm and determination. As a drivers’ manager, being involved in kart racing will give the chance to get in touch with the most promising drivers early in their career, with the aim to properly prepare them for their future steps.”

Armando Filini is the team manager and is formally known from his work with Maranello Kart ”I am thrilled to join such a successful company like ART Grand Prix. We will be facing this challenge with the same dedication and professionalism that ART Grand Prix has showed in all the categories it entered. In my karting career, my goal has always been to help young drivers to prepare themselves for their next step in open-wheel racing. I strongly think that this brand-new project will definitely provide them with a significant support. We are working hard to reach strong results.”

It remains to be seen whether cementing karting as a purely first step on the ‘racing ladder’ is healthy for the sport overall.

KG POLAR radiator - the ultimate



POLAR is a new radiator brand from KG.
It embrace the fluid dynamics state of the art for a kart radiator.
The air flow coming across the radiator core is highly increased from
6 specially designed side winds attachments.
These winds are controlled by the driver who can also move them on an opposite direction
in order to reduce the incoming and cooling air flow in colder environment
o r during the first laps on the track with a cold engine.
On the rear of the core we have a couple of winged extractors, that in addition of being air intakes, have the function of reducing the hot air pressure flow coming from the core, thus enabling a better thermal exchange.
Polar radiators are special due to an aluminum alloy mount that allows for a
perfect set up of the radiator on the chassis, and also presents numerous mount positions for
additional tuning.

Radiator line current and future

KG is producing and marketing a very high end line of radiators. These products that are handcrafted, handwelded and utilizing a high quality core have been at the top of many international championship and series since the beginning of their utilization by top names and top drivers.

Here a breif summary of what is available, what are their specification and the more indicated use for each one.

RD.450.245KIT

This is the most common and with the most possible utilization. It comes with the mount, a catch can kit mount, a quality cap and a shade to partialize the influx of air, so you can have more or less cooling according to the outside temperature. It measure 450mm in height, 245 mm in width and 40mm in depth.


RD.450.185KIT (STANDARD) Same as above but with a width of 185mm.

RD.450.300KIT (EXTRA)Same as above but with a width of 300mm. This is very large. Big cooling mass and certainly need to have the space to be mounted. But it is VERYeffective for the kart and engines that do need to have a lot of cooling at the best possible quality-price ratio.

RD.440.280KIT This radiator is the state of the art karting radiator. The core is designed with a different system, where the water does flow horizontally and does much more cooling. The dimension are slightly different, being 440 mm height, 280 mm width. It also comes with mount, catch can kit, cap and shade.

RD.440.300.200 PENTA. This radiator is the well known "Penta" or "Nevada" due to its particular design and shape. As the Maxi above it has the best core available in the market with a high capacity for cooling. The peculiarity here is the shape that allows for extra air flow to go around the radiator and toward the back of the chassis. It does not allow or offer a shade, and it is generally used for KZ shifter engines of the top level that do need high cooling to the high performance they are set up to deliver. THis radiaotor also comes with mount and catch can kit, no shade.


All of the radiators offered with the shade can also be requested without shade. It is however advised to take them with shade as it will come useful at times.

There will be addition on the radiator production and marketing in the future with an even more special production, limited edition of radiator with a complete new system of shading-partializing.
