It has been a long time....

Well, sorry for the long delay here. Summer went by, many races went by, many trips around the globe went by....and just this month the race in Las Vegas and all the activity related to it went by. Well, here we are. Let's see what are the latest news.

- The new FP 7 bodywork has been quite succesfull so far this year and has been available in North America for a little while. Several manufacturers and several teams have been using it in USA, like Arrow Kartsport, Praga and OK1, Intrepid, SodiKart, ART Racing and more. It really does look good.

-
- KG Buru bodywork continued to do well, widely used and in demand. Being as contemporary as the newer FP7, it is a matter of taste. Here some of the manufacturer and teams using it.

- We have been producing a lot of steering wheels this year.  It is without a doubt that our quality standard is now so high that a kart with our steering wheels will stand out and the feed back from drivers is most uniformerly enthusiast. It does make them perform better. Like a quality pair of shoes would compare to an average pair....

KG Kart stand and working table

Often enough I get dealers or reace teams contacting me to get some Kart stands and race table. At times we run out and unfortunately I have to add time to their request. But, right now, we have both of them in stock in USA, so in the case are needed please contact us and will handle that ! Also, as an additional info on the latest kart stand. IT IS more sturdy than the previous one, so, while it still keep the classic compact and foldind design for easy transport, it is now even more appreciated for the North American track pits areas - sometimes not cemented or asphalted.

Comet Kart Sales Launch New ‘Eagle’ Chassis

The two biggest topics in karting right now are the economy and the cost of karting. The origin of the Eagle chassis, available through Comet Kart Sales, began with a need for an affordable but competitive sprint kart that the average entry level karter or karting hobbyist can afford. Unfortunately, there is usually a compromise between a quality chassis and an affordable chassis. With the Eagle kart, Comet Kart Sales wanted to change that.

"It's our hope that bringing down the initial cost of karting, while also supplying a quality kart, we can bring more people into the sport and continue to grow karting even if the economy is not what we all would like", explained Mark Dismore Sr. of Comet Kart Sales.

Since the most important part of any kart is the frame, Comet has made no compromise in its material quality and construction. You can always upgrade bolt on components, but short of a tube bender, blow torch and a welder, you can't change the frame. In a move that they believe is a first for a US karting manufacturer, Comet has imported 30mm and 32mm tubing directly from the same mills in Europe that the top karting manufacturers in Europe also use. You can buy off the shelf tubing in the USA, but the very same properties that make the tubing great for mechanical uses in the USA makes it a poor choice for a competitive racing chassis. The tubing is bought in bulk, ocean freighted to the USA, where it is cut, bent, coped and TIG welded in Indianapolis. The karts are then powder coated locally before they are assembled in house at Comet Kart Sales.

Components are sourced from US suppliers and machine shops as well as select European part suppliers. The Eagle has an extensive list of upgradeable components including axle diameter, seat, steering wheel, hubs, bodywork and wheels. The kart comes standard with 1 1/4" axle assembly, KG CIK Bodywork, Douglas spun aluminum wheels, KG round suede steering wheel, MCP Brakes with oversized flat brake disk, angled steering hub, 10mm kingpin bolt with adjustable offset pill, 17mm Spindles, KG 8.5 or 3.5 liter fuel tank and unique aluminum brake and throttle pedals. The base price Eagle starts at $2450.00, tires sold separately.

Kart show 2012 in Italy

Hello ! Catching up after 2-3 weeks on the road. We have been attending and having a booth at the kart and race show as mentioned on previous post. The show went well, despite being overall less attended due to lack of representation from some manufacturers. KG had the new homologated bodywork as well the BURU and EVO model, also rehomologated and completely current. New steering wheels and the full Polar radiator line was showed. A lot of interest and a lot of questions. The response on the new products (and current ones) has been very positive and encouraging. So we hope 2012 will bring good things for all of karting and racing industry.

The FP7 spoiler need to be mounted with a new plaque, otherwise same clamps and sampe bumper will work. The APE aribox, generally used for KF, KZ and TAG engines has been homologated again and will be fully approved for CIK international competition.

Evo spoiler and panel also fully valid. Buru is also fully valid.

MK14 cadet style is gaining more and more ground also in North America, and this product has been available for a while with our importers and with our USA office.

Polar radiators and standard radiators are getting very popular within the European teams and racer and we had an increase of production and sales to keep up with the demand. The product performed very well in USA, Canada and Mexico - where the racing conditions are very demanding.
